Horse Shows

WHOA promotes many Walking Horse Events such as the International Pleasure & Colt Grand Championship Horse Show and supports many other one night shows. WHOA was on the forefront of promoting the plantation pleasure division and continues that tradition today through the Register of Merit program and a series of versatility shows and a versatility high point program. WHOA is also a sponsor of the Academy Program which promotes the Tennessee Walking Horse to our youth.

Today, WHOA sponsors the International Pleasure & Colt Grand Championship show which is the premiere flat-shod Tennessee Walking Horse show in the country. WHOA also sponsors the Triple Crown Series of shows as well as many one-day shows. In addition, WHOA affiliates many other shows around the country, providing judges and other show officials as needed.

TRIPLE CROWN SERIES

WHOA sponsors three three-day shows each year that are designated as Triple Crown Shows. A horse that wins a blue ribbon in the same class at each of the three shows is designated a Triple Crown winner and receives special awards for the year.

HIGH POINT PROGRAMS

As a part of its mission to enhance members' experiences with their horses, the Walking Horse Owners Association administers a number of high point programs. These programs offer those who compete with their horses the opportunity to earn year-end honors in every division from versatility to rail classes. Members of WHOA are eligible to participate in all of these programs. Here are several of the WHOA High Point programs:

INTERNATIONAL PLEASURE AND COLT GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP

This show is our premiere event and is held the last two weeks of July in the prestigious Miller Coliseum on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN.

Exhibitors from throughout the nation recognize the International as the leading Championship Show for the Pleasure Tennessee Walking Horse.
