WHOA HIGH POINT PROGRAM


As a part of its mission to enhance members' experiences with their horses, the Walking Horse Owners Association administers a number of high point programs.  These programs offer those who compete with their horses the opportunity to earn year-end honors in every division from versatility to rail classes. Members of WHOA are eligible to participate in all of these programs. 

Here are several of the WHOA High Point programs:


National High Point Program

  • Points earned at any show affiliated with any HIO.
  • Points earned at shows throughout the country.
  • Points awarded based on placing at each show.
  • Points are tracked for all participants.
  • Point totals are available online.
  • Awards banquet held each year for award winners.
  • Awards presented in over 50 categories.

WHOA Register of Merit Program

  • Provides a showcase for Versatility participants.
  • Points earned by placing at any organized show.
  • Points earned at competitive trail or endurance rides.
  • Points earned at other competitive events.
  • Points awarded based on placing at each show, ride or event.
  • Points are tracked by program participants.
  • Awards banquet held each year for award winners.
  • Awards presented in 18 Versatility divisions.
  • Horses and riders do not have to compete in every division to win awards.

  • Points are earned by Amateur and Youth Riders.
  • Points earned at any show affiliated by any HIO.
  • Points earned at shows throughout the country.

  • Awards presented in four categories.
